I can’t live without a Silpat. I use them every single day! To bake cookies, bars, anything really. Always put a Silpat onto a perforated baking tray (it bakes so much better and then you can use the perforated tray as a cooling rack). Demarle is the creator of the Silpat and I have been using them since 1992 when I started my culinary career! I had my first Silpat since then and it lasted 25 years literally! For Home ovens use a half sheet pan.
